Longreach Bay - Rottnest Island snorkelling
A calm, family-friendly bay with soft white sand, Longreach is an easy place to float over the seabed and watch for fish. Stingrays are sometimes visible from the beach as well as from the water.
The bay is sheltered from the prevailing winds off the Indian Ocean, so it is often a good option when more exposed beaches are rough. The water deepens quickly and boats use the moorings, so keep a lookout for vessels and stay close to shore if you are less confident.
A variety of fish species live here, and The Basin and Geordie Bay are a short walk or ride away if you want to combine snorkelling stops.
